GRANTS
Southern participates in the following need-based grant programs that do not require repayment when awarded to eligible students:
- Federal Pell Grant
- Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant
- Connecticut State University Grant
- Roberta B. Willis Grant
LOANS
Southern participates in the following loan programs that require repayment once the student stops attending at least half-time:
- Federal Direct Loan Program (Subsidized and Unsubsidized)
- Federal Direct Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS)
SCHOLARSHIPS
Students are strongly encouraged to research and apply for scholarships to help offset the cost of their education. Scholarships can significantly reduce the amount a student may need to borrow in loans. SCSU Foundation Scholarships
The SCSU Foundation provides a single online application for students to apply for over 350 scholarships available at Southern.
