Visiting and Non-Degree Students
Visiting students and individuals who hold a high school diploma or equivalent may enroll in undergraduate courses at Southern as non-matriculated students. Those who are not currently admitted to a degree or certificate program, and who do not already hold a bachelor’s degree, are classified as undergraduate non-matriculated students. The following policies apply to undergraduate non-matriculated enrollment:
- Enrollment is limited to part-time status (fewer than 12 credits) during the fall and spring semesters.
- Students must meet all course prerequisites. However, academic departments may restrict access to certain courses.
- All courses will appear on the undergraduate academic transcript.
- Non-matriculated students are subject to all university academic and administrative policies.
- Tuition is charged at the undergraduate rate for all courses.
- Non-matriculated students are not eligible for financial aid or university housing.
- Students must apply and be formally admitted (i.e., matriculate) into a degree or certificate program before completing 30 undergraduate credits.
