Residence Status
Residency for tuition purposes is initially determined at the time of application
for admission. Students classified as out-of-state residents who believe they qualify
for (1) in-state tuition as a Connecticut resident (per Connecticut General Statute
10a-26), or (2) out-of-state reduced tuition as a resident of DC, DE, FL, GA, MA,
MD, ME, NC, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, SC, VA or VT may file a Residency Reclassification Application.
International students with temporary U.S. government status (e.g., visa holders)
cannot establish permanent residence in Connecticut for tuition purposes and are considered
out-of-state residents. As a reminder, all students must adhere to the Student Code
of Conduct & Statement of Disciplinary Procedures, which prohibits providing false
information to school officials.
