Cost of Attendance Versus Billed Costs
The Cost of Attendance (COA) is an estimate of what attending one year may cost a traditional student. COA is often higher than direct billed amounts since it includes basic living expenses in addition to tuition and fees. The COA is made up of two different types of costs.
Direct Costs
Direct costs are items that will appear on the University bill, such as tuition and fees.
Indirect Costs
Indirect costs are estimated costs associated with attending the University and will not appear on the bill. This includes allowances for books, transportation and personal expenses.
