IDS 470 - Literacy in the Content Areas

A study of important literacy strategies for content area teachers to scaffold instruction so that all learners can access content area texts and instruction. Strategies for vocabulary acquisition, word decoding, reading comprehension, writing, and study skills are covered. Class participants learn research-based methods of curriculum adaptation and modification. Special Condition: Gate 3.

Prerequisite(s): Passing score of Praxis I or waiver and EDU 413, or ART 370, or EXS 352.
