This is an educator preparation program in the State of Connecticut with additional admission requirements (see Admissions>>Teacher/Educator Preparation Programs). Candidates recommended for certification must also meet any additional Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) requirements (see Degree Requirements>>Teacher/Educator Preparation Programs) in effect on the date CSDE receives the certification application.

ILS 516 – Literacy, Literature and Reading for School and Public Libraries
ILS 545 – Administration and Design of School Library Media Centers 
ILS 547 – Integrating Technology and Media in K-12 Curriculum 
ILS 575 – Instructional Design Principles 
ILS 582 – Library Science Internship 

Electives: One Course 

Suggested elective courses: ILS 571 Methods in School Libraries or ILS 541 Leadership and Advocacy for Information Professionals.  Other courses may be chosen from current ILS course offerings in consultation with academic advisor.
