Visiting and Non-Degree Students
Visiting students and individuals who already hold a bachelor’s degree, but are not currently admitted to a degree or certificate program, may enroll in undergraduate or graduate courses at Southern as graduate non-matriculated students. The following policies apply to graduate non-matriculated enrollment:
- Enrollment is limited to part-time status (fewer than 9 credits) during the fall and spring semesters.
- Students must meet all course prerequisites. However, academic departments may restrict access to certain courses.
- All courses will appear on the graduate academic transcript.
- Non-matriculated students are subject to all university academic and administrative policies.
- Tuition is charged at the graduate rate for all courses.
- Non-matriculated students are not eligible for financial aid or university housing.
- A maximum of 9 credits completed as a non-matriculated student may be applied toward a graduate program. For programs requiring 36 or more credits, departments may, at their discretion, accept up to 25% of the total program credits.
